Warm Clothes in winter 200 homeless children

December 01 2020, Muwakhat team distributed warm clothes to homeless children to save them from this harsh winter. The children were taken to a branded textile warehouse (Ismail Warehouse) to choose clothes of their own liking. This was a very emotional event for the Muwakhat team.

This was the 2^nd event by Muwakhat team done in a branded shop.

Highlights of the event “Distribution of Branded Warm Clothes to Homeless Children”:

• Muwakhat team provided pick and drop service to the homeless children
• They were all sanitized before getting together and entering the branded warehouse
• All the social distancing rules were followed
• This was 1^st time that these homeless children were given an opportunity to pick & choose clothes all by themselves (accompanied by volunteers in case of any help needed)
• They were brought out of isolation and the spark of their smiles were very heart warming
• They were empowered in choosing the dresses according to their own choices
• After the distribution of clothes, the children were organized together for a group photo
• They also showed their new clothes to their parents and the joy was very touching

What was distributed?

• 2 trousers, 2 jackets, gloves and a cap were given to every child of their own choice,
• The total cost of the package was only $18,
• but the happiness of the children was immeasurable

What was learned?

• The children behaved very well when they were brought out from isolation
• They are just normal human beings like any other child
• It is proven that “Equality is Quality!”
• The biggest achievement was priceless happiness of the children and their parents
• Their confidence was boosted!
• They were made aware about the COVID-19 safety measures
• They explored their choices and had a great exposure experience

Way forward?

• Muwakhat foundation is going to have an “Eggs Distribution Event” on 21^st December 2020
• The aim is to provide homeless children with enough nutrition and warmth in this cold winter
• There will be a shoes distribution activity, tent drive and blankets distribution event too
