Daniel will graduate from DANZAREA at the end of this year. His goal is to become a professional dancer. Danza Abierta is the beginning of the journey. It is a program for talented aspiring professional contemporary dancers. He doesn't have the economic resources to pay for the travel to Costa Rica and daily expenses he needs to participate (3 weeks). He has a high chance to be chosen for a scholarship to study in this 3-year program to become a professional dancer.
Some DANZAREA students wish to become professional dancers after graduating our social program. Unfortunately there aren't many options for them in Panama, so in many cases they have to look for opportunities abroad, or simply pursue a different path in life. Since we work mainly with children and teenagers from social endangered communities they don't have the resources to afford international studies. With this project we can help Daniel start his journey becoming a professional dancer.
With this microproject we will be able to help him pay for his travel to Costa Rica, and daily expenses (housing, food and local transportation) during 3 weeks. The audition fee has already been paid, so we only need to get him there and allow him the opportunity to give his best to get into the Danza Abierta Program.
DANZAREA program has already benefited +1450 children and teenagers from at-risk communities in Panama City, instilling love for art and culture. Students are encouraged to keep studying, get formal jobs and finally break their poverty cycle. "I want to grow and become a professional dancer, being resilient as I come from a vulnerable community. I want to learn and put a lot of effort in this audition. More than an experience, I want this to be the next step for my personal growth" Daniel B.
