We are grateful to you for your valuable support as it has enabled Sense India to reach out to people with deafblindness and multiple disabilities during this crisis period. We are glad to share with you an update of our initiative to support deserving families with ration kits, that helped them to sustain and survive during these difficult times. We have already provided kits to more than 1000 families across India. We intend to continue supporting families of people with deafblindness with ration kits and medicines for next few months. We are also supporting some deafblind adults to revive their livelihood that has been badly hit due to the currentpandemic. All this has been possible because of donors like you.
During the months July and August 420 families received kits. Details of locations given in the list below.
9 years old Rakesh from Assam has deaflindness.Living in Kamrup Rural district with his family, Rakesh's father works as daily wage labourer. In beginning of lockdown, the family has to sell their only cow to get money for buying the food. But the money they received did not last long to feed family during entire lockdown period. By mid- April the family was struggling for the basic food items. They have to ask others for the food and felt helpless. They then received ration kit support twice through Sense India, which brought relief to the family.
