The project will complete construction of the existing structure by fixing steel doors, steel windows with glasses, work on the floor, plastering, painting the whole building, work on the verandah to be accessible by children with disability. The project will provide additional furniture to improve on the sitting arrangements which in return will improve on the learners' quality of education.
In Uganda, lack of school facilities has been a big challenge and especially Mayuge District where many children walk long distances in search of education. Children between the ages of 4 and 6 years face it rough and this has resulted into many school dropouts and early marriages to the girls. There's no enough sitting arrangements and students squeeze themselves to attend school and also a big challenge to children with disability to access classes.
The completion of the class rooms will create a condusive learning environment where students will be able to study well even in rain season. The teachers will be able to display pictorial materials around the classes to make it easier for the students to excel in education. The provision of enough sitting arrangements will make students study in a comfortable which will be an incentive to attract more students to attend school.
The completion of the classroom block and provision of additional sitting arrangements will attract more students to attend school thereby reducing the school dropouts among children especially girls who are forced to early marriage and pregnancies. There will be reduced illiteracy level and a community that will take will take charge of their affairs.
