Amanda and her fiance went to Peru in July for a two week vacation. Her fiance also wanted Amanda to meet his family. Amanda is a school teach and since she had the summer off, she didn't mind when her fiance suggested they stay another month. When it was time to come back in August, her fiance took her passport and told her they weren't going back. When she objected he beat her. Soon after she found out she was pregnant. She didn't tell him. We need to get Amanda home. She is so afraid.
Amanda is afraid of her abuser. She wants to escape Peru and return to the USA before he finds out she is pregnant. She is beginning to show and he has been mocking her that she is gaining weight. We need $650 to pay for a new American passport for Amanda and her plane ticket home.
Amanda will be able to escape her abuser in Peru and have her baby safely at home in the USA.
The project serves 500 women per year empowering them to find alternatives to a life of violence so their children grow up in violence free homes with their self-esteem in tact with the hope of stopping the cycle of violence in future generations.
