By Lou Billett | Chairperson, African Angels Trust
You donated to support Rachel's fund raising efforts to help Ahlume reach his dream of becoming a pilot. We are delighted to let you know Ahlume has started his high school education at Queens College in Queenstown South Africa. Our school year starts in January and ends in December, and is broken up into four terms. Ahlume travelled to Queenstown, some three hours from his home in Chintsa, with his mom Lindiware, and his father Reuben, who spoke about their dreams for Ahlume's future. Reuben is a particularly engaged father, and takes Ahlume's education seriously. They stay in constant contact with Ahlume, despite being far away, and say he is enjoying his new school, isn't too homesick, and is working hard. We will keep you updated about Ahlume's progress through the school year.
Thank you for your donation that enabled Ahlume to begin his high school journey. We are still around USD$4000 short to reach our 2020 goal and would appreciate it if you could share Ahlume's story with your networks.
With gratitude,
Lou
