Nine young women and men from Punto Crea in Totonicapan and San Rafael are preparing to compete in the Balam 2020 national robotics challenge. For them to attend we need funds for registration, transportation, room and board. Robotics challenges develop logical thinking and grit. Under COVID-19 lockdown 9 Punto Crea youth prepare for Balam 2020 learning about electricity, electronics and programming. But they need the robot kit and funds to attend the contest later this year. =/= La robotica desarrolla el pensamiento logico y la persistencia. En cuarentena, 9 jovenes de Punto Crea se preparan para Balam 2020 aprendiendo electricidad, electronica y programacion. Pero necesitan kits de robotica y viaticos para asistir.
Punto Crea will provide safe transport (a minibus), room and board for 7 youth participants and 2 tutors to attend Balam 2020 in Guatemala City (3 days + 2 nights), as well as 4 reusable robot kits (2 per team) =/= Punto Crea proporcionara transporte seguro (microbus), hospedaje y alimentacion para 7 participantes y 2 tutores en Balam 2020 en Ciudad de Guatemala (3 dias + 2 noches), y 4 kits de robotica reutilizables (2 x equipo).
Through weekly sessions, youth in Punto Crea master STEAM skills that prepare them for further formal or non-formal education, employment or entrepreneurship, and develop critical and creative thinking skills expanding their flexibility as problem solvers. =/= En sesiones semanales los jovenes en Punto Crea desarrollan competencias STEAM que los preparan para seguir educandose, emplearse o el emprendimiento, y desarrollan habilidades de pensamiento critico y creativo que los hacen mas flexibles.
