This project supports landmine survivors and their families by equipping the childcare center, Goticas de Amor - Little Drops of Love -, to care for pre-K children in Sipi, Choco, one of the poorest regions in Colombia. This initiative empowers parents with disabilities to pursue work opportunities and provide for their families, fostering long-term stability and a better quality of life.
This project will enable parents, who are landmine survivors, to work and support their families, fostering financial stability and improving their quality of life. Meanwhile, their children will be safely cared for and nurtured at the Goticas de Amor - Little Drops of Love - childcare center, ensuring a secure and supportive environment for their development.
By equipping the childcare center Goticas de Amor - Little Drops of Love -, we will support 50 families of landmine survivors in Sipi, Choco, one of Colombia's poorest regions. Lacking road infrastructure, Sipi is only accessible by river, faces constant flooding, and is impacted by landmines from ongoing conflict. The childcare center will provide a safe space for children to learn and grow.
The parents of the 50 children attending the Goticas de Amor -Little Drops of Love- childcare center will have the opportunity to secure jobs, enabling them to meet their families' essential needs. Meanwhile, the children will receive proper care and appropriate stimulation, ensuring they are well-prepared to transition successfully into elementary school.
