India is home to more stray dogs than any other country in the world. Puppies born on the street have a slim chance of survival due to deadly illnesses, hit-and-runs, and downright cruelty. And even if they make it to adulthood, 99% will never be adopted and will try to survive. Our best proactive tool we have to prevent this future suffering is mass spay/neuter. Please help us sterilise 200 dogs to save lives.
Our Animal Birth Control program not only prevents the future suffering of street dogs, it enhances public health through rabies vaccination and deworming preventing the spread of zoonotic diseases (UN SDG 3) and creates safer, more sustainable cities by reducing human-dog conflicts (UN SDG 11).
ABC (Animal Birth Control) - India has the most stray dogs in the world at an estimated 62 million. This program is a systematic approach to stabilize the street dog population humanely. We use the ICAM (International Campaign Animal Management coalition) protocols as guidance.
Our vision: We strive to create a community where the people realize that the stray animal population can be managed with compassion and education. With mass sterilization and rabies vaccination programs we can create a healthy sustainable population of dogs. Through education and community interaction, we can teach people how to be kind to street dogs even they are afraid of them, eradicate rabies, and increase adoptions.
