Our project is raising money for a greenhouse to provide produce as part of our student lunch program. We have been providing meals to students at two school in the Wakiso District outside of Kampala, Uganda, for 6 years. A 3 acre farm has provided solid food (potatoes, beans, yams) for students to replace the previous liquid food (maize porridge), previously provided.
Vegetables have been a problem because of the uncertainly of rainfall in the wet season and excessive heat in the dry season. A greenhouse is planned to provide a more controllable environment for growing produce and green vegetables for the student lunch program.
Donations provided have reached a total of $1210 so far out of our $5000 target. We are continuing to drive the project with an objective of reaching our target by the end of May.
