October in Zimbabwe is a great time for guinea fowl owners because that is when the birds lay tons of eggs. This becomes the time to eat protein in the form of eggs and also to multiply a flock for further expansion. Patience, a girl of 10, is excited with her guinea fowl because she knows that the eggs = chicks and that chicks = adult guinea fowls and that adult fowls = school fees, food, and basic necessities.
Thank YOU for your generosity in helping Patience to realize her dream. She’s in school and expects to remain there as long as her flock keeps growing. When we visit her, I had to smile when she whistled for her birds to come to her and they did! She was so proud of them and thankful to AFCA for providing them. I explained to her that it is a large group of people who care for her and who made the gift happy. She was amazed by that.
Keep your eyes peeled for a girl named Patience, who will one day change the world. She might only be 10 right now, but one day, she will be an educated woman who will do something big. Just wait and see.
I am currently in Zimbabwe and just can’t get a good enough connection to upload photos. I hope I will soon, though. Meanwhile, know you helped change lives.
