This project will provide a full year of education for thirteen year old Rose. Rose was brought to the HTDC orphanage because she was mistreated by a family member who she could no longer live with. This was very hard on Rose but she's adjusted well and she's a big help with looking after the younger kids at the orphanage. Rose deserves a good life and, with your help, we'll be able to provide her with the education she needs to build a secure future.
As an orphan, Rose is among the most vulnerable of Haitian children. There are very few free schools available in Port-au-Prince, so the orphanage must pay for the kids in its care to attend school. Lack of education locks kids like Rose into a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only helps Rose, but strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.
Rose has lived her whole life in poverty. She needs a quality education to find a prosperous future. Your donations will give her that education and set her on the road to a brighter tomorrow. Note that the orphanage is home to around thirty children. Donations to this project will cover Rose's school costs over a year, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.
Access to education will give Rose the skills she needs to find a stable job and escape poverty when she's older.
