Thanks so much for helping to provide a safe home for Rose.
Fifteen year old Rose was brought to the orphanage by the police because she was mistreated by a family member who she could no longer live with.
The police hoped the orphanage could keep a roof over Rose’s head, but safe houses large enough for all the kids are very expensive in Port-au-Prince. The orphanage struggles to pay it’s own rent and, without your help, Rose would be in danger of becoming a homeless street-kid, exposed to further abuse and suffering.
But now, because of you, Rose will have a safe home for the next year*. Your donations will also provide caregivers to meet Rose’s needs and also ensure that she has access to water and electricity.
Rose has a bright future because you gave. There are so many things you could have spent your hard earned money on, but you chose Rose. Thanks so much.
We’ll keep updating you about Rose and all her friends at the Hands Together to Defend the Children Orphanage right here on GlobalGiving. If you ever have any questions about how we're using your donation, please email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
Thanks again for making Rose’s future bright, and our warmest regards!
*Note that the orphanage is home to around thirty children. Donations to this project will cover Rose’s share of the costs over a year, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.
