This project will provide a year of English Education for Peterson. Peterson enrolled at the EIM Institute a year ago as a shy intermediate level student. Since then his English has come on leaps and bounds and he's really come out of his shell. Peterson will use his language skills to find dignified, living wage employment - but he can't afford to pay for his own school. That's why he needs donors like you!
More than two thirds of Haitian adults lack formal employment and more than 50% of the population lives on around $2 a day. Despite high unemployment, there is actually a shortage of skilled labour in Port-au-Prince. English speakers can find work in hotels, restaurants, and offices, but English schools are usually very expensive. Most Haitians, including Peterson, cannot afford to attend these schools. Without the means to develop their skills, many are left trapped in poverty.
By ensuring that Peterson can continue studying English for free at the English in Mind (EIM) Institute, you can help him develop the skills he needs to find gainful employment.
Your donations will give Peterson the means to support himself and his family into the future. This will let him escape poverty for good.
