This project aims to provide a community kitchen facility to serve daily meals to 30 neglected elderly people in a slum in Guntur, India. These individuals are at high risk of starvation due to loneliness and a lack of support from family or neighbors. Some of the able-bodied women in the community have expressed interest in participating in the cooking and serving of daily meals. We are raising $1,500 to care for and provide daily meals to these 30 seniors for 90 days. Will you join us in this
Sanjeevaiah Nagar in Guntur city is home to at least 150 elderly people who are neglected and suffering. They are at high risk of starvation, loneliness, and sickness. The situation is dire because even their family members and neighbors are unable to help; they are often unemployed or lack enough food to feed their own children. Consequently, the health of these vulnerable senior citizens is deteriorating, making them increasingly frail.
BASS India currently provides daily, nutritious meals to 30 vulnerable elderly people who are at risk of starvation. This project goes beyond just food by fostering a strong sense of community. Some of the more able-bodied women enjoy cooking and serving meals together, creating a family-like atmosphere where everyone feels cared for. By providing these daily meals, we are not only ensuring that 30 people have good health throughout the year but also creating an environment of joy and happiness
A new community kitchen in a remote Guntur slum is providing daily meals to 30 neglected elderly people. This initiative goes beyond just food, offering a space where they feel protected, respected, and part of a community. By sharing love and care, they are collectively experiencing joy, happiness, and improved health. The project's ultimate goal is to establish a permanent kitchen that serves all the needy elderly in the slum, increasing their lifespan and fostering a true sense of belonging.
