This project will provide a year of English Education for Jina. Jina is one of the youngest students at the English In Mind (EIM) Institute. Despite her age, Jina doesn't get intimidated easily. She's always the first to raise her hand and offer an opinion or question. We can't wait to see her continue to grow and thrive, but Jina can't afford to pay for her own school. That's why she needs donors like you!
More than two thirds of Haitian adults lack formal employment and more than 50% of the population lives on less than $2 a day. Despite high unemployment, there is actually a shortage of skilled labour in Port-au-Prince. English speakers can find work in hotels, restaurants, and offices, yet there are virtually no free English schools. Most Haitians, including Jina, cannot afford to attend these schools. Without the means to develop their skills, many are left trapped in poverty.
Your donations will help support EIM's running costs, so all that Jina has to bring is her text-book and hunger for knowledge. By ensuring that Jina can continue studying English at EIM, you will help her develop the skills she needs to find better, more secure employment.
By helping Jina to develop her English skills you'll give her the means to support herself and her family into the future. This will let her escape poverty for good.
