Thanks so much for helping us to give Tsum Valley’s young nuns back their education.
The Buddhist nunnery of Nepal’s Tsum Valley was severely damaged in the earthquake last April. This nunnery provided not only a home, but also school, for the young nuns who live there. As a result of the earthquake damage these young nuns lost their classroom and they are now trying to continue their classes in cold, uncomfortable tents.
But now, thanks to you, we’re moving closer to being able to rebuild the nunnery’s classroom and give the nuns back their education. While this microproject sadly retired before it was fully funded your generosity means we were still able to raise an amazing $523 for classroom construction.
The nunnery is located high in the mountains, at an altitude of over 4,000m, so at the moment the site is covered in snow! Once the snow melts however, construction will be able to start. So, for now, we’ll hold onto your donations and keep fundraising until the Spring. At that point the ground will be levelled and work will start in earnest on the classroom foundations. Thanks so much for helping to make this work and plan possible.
We’ll continuing sending you updates about this project, and our other work in Nepal, right here on GlobalGiving. Should you ever have any questions about how we’re using your donation, please don’t hesitate to email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
One last time, thanks so much for helping to give Tsum Valley’s young nuns back their education.
