This project will give John, one of our students , and his family a home. John is a clever boy but his family situation affects his performance. Both his parents are disabled and got no home of their own.
There are currently five disabled couples and 15 family members ,living in parastatal houses in Nyahururu, Kenya. They have been given a notice to vacate. These families together with their children face risk of starting a homeless life The children face a risk of missing school.
This project will help 5 family members with a stable home and this will help the children to settle and attend school without any disruption and worry. This will also help the parents to concentrate on income generating activities that will benefit the whole family. We plan to raise money by climbing Mt.Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa from 26th Sep-1st Oct. We know this will be hard, but the thought of giving a family a home for life is so rewarding.
The project aims at giving the family a stable home giving them an opportunity to bring up their children in a good environment.
