Summary

The GEN In Conversation Series is a four-month online programme of talks and interactive workshops designed for the curious and for those wishing to unpack systemic racism, social and ecological justice and find solutions for some of the most pressing issues facing humanity today. From June through to September, we are bringing together activists, academics, community practitioners, artists, writers, dancers and researchers to share their insights and lived experiences.

Challenge

This project will help to address and dismantle - what we believe - are some of the most important issues facing us today: namely addressing ongoing colonisation (in its many guises), food sovereignty and ecological and economic justice.

Solution

A key component of the In Conversation Series is to open up a space for a different kind of learning, where those listening are invited to learn through a lived, embodied experience of all our speakers. We cannot promise to 'solve' the 'problem': no one can! But we can promise to create a safely held, brave space to learn and unpack the systems and worldviews that keep so many entangled in systems of oppression and control.

Long-Term Impact

The Global Environments Network's highly interactive 'In Conservation Series' will ultimately help support collaborations and networking for emerging leaders and changemakers who wish to transform their communities and organisations. This powerful interconnected group of emerging changemakers continue to actively seek solutions to attain social and environmental justice, and strengthen wellbeing at scales from local to global.
