Shahbana Family Freed from Kiln Slavery
Project Overview
The project “Shahbana Family Freed from Kiln Slavery” was launched to rescue and support a vulnerable family trapped in bonded labor at a brick kiln in Pakistan. This initiative focused on helping the family of the late Mr. Abdul Rasheed, who spent many years working under exploitative conditions without freedom, financial security, or basic human rights.
Brick kiln slavery remains one of the harsh realities faced by many poor families in Pakistan. Workers are often trapped in endless debt, forced to work long hours in dangerous environments while living in extreme poverty. Children are also affected, losing access to education, healthcare, and a safe childhood.
Mr. Abdul Rasheed and his family were among those suffering under this cycle of exploitation and hardship.
The Family’s Situation
Mr. Abdul Rasheed worked for years in a brick kiln under bonded labor conditions. His income was extremely low, while debt continued to increase. The family lived in unsafe conditions without proper shelter, healthcare, education, or hope for a better future.
A few months ago, tragedy struck when Mr. Abdul Rasheed passed away, leaving behind:
After his death, the family became even more vulnerable and remained trapped in the brick kiln environment, facing uncertainty, emotional trauma, and continued exploitation.
Mrs. Shahbana struggled to care for her children while living under the pressure and control of kiln owners. The children were at serious risk of continuing the cycle of bonded labor and poverty.
Project Intervention
With the generous support of donors, the Moses Welfare Foundation stepped in to rescue the family and provide emergency humanitarian assistance.
The project successfully helped:
The intervention focused not only on immediate rescue but also on helping the family begin rebuilding their lives independently and safely.
Support Provided
Through donor contributions, the following assistance was provided to the family:
Emergency Rescue and Protection
The family was safely removed from exploitative brick kiln conditions and protected from further abuse and forced labor.
Food and Basic Necessities
Essential food supplies, clothing, and household necessities were provided to help the family survive during the transition period.
Safe Living Support
Temporary support and safer living arrangements helped the family move away from the dangerous kiln environment.
Emotional and Humanitarian Care
The loss of Mr. Abdul Rasheed created emotional trauma for the family. Compassionate support and guidance were provided to help them recover emotionally and regain confidence.
Future Stability Support
The foundation continues to guide the family toward a more stable and independent future through ongoing humanitarian assistance and community support.
Project Impact
This project created a life-changing impact for Mrs. Shahbana and her children.
Key Achievements
Today, the children are no longer living under the fear and pressure of kiln slavery. Instead, they now have the opportunity to dream of a better future filled with safety, education, and hope.
Long-Term Importance
This project is not only about helping one family. It is part of the broader fight against modern-day slavery and generational poverty.
Bonded labor destroys lives, separates families from opportunity, and traps children in lifelong exploitation. By rescuing and supporting families like Shahbana’s, this project helps break the cycle of slavery and creates pathways toward dignity and independence.
The Moses Welfare Foundation remains committed to standing with vulnerable families and advocating for freedom, justice, and human dignity for all.
Message of Gratitude
We extend our heartfelt thanks to every donor and supporter who contributed to this project.
Because of your kindness and compassion:
Your generosity transformed despair into hope and slavery into freedom.
