This project will provide essential dry-ration kits to 225 highly vulnerable families in India, including older people, persons with disabilities, widows, single mothers, orphan-supported households, folk artists, slum residents, and other marginalized groups. Each kit will contain flour, rice, pulses, cooking oil, sugar, spices, and basic groceries, helping ensure food security and nutrition for up to eight weeks.
Rising food prices, unemployment, poverty, disability, old age, and social exclusion have left many low-income families struggling to afford even basic meals. Older people living alone, widows, persons with disabilities, single mothers, and slum residents are especially at risk, often skipping meals or surviving on poor nutrition, which seriously affects their health, dignity, and overall well-being.
The project will distribute 225 nutritious dry-ration kits containing flour, rice, pulses, cooking oil, sugar, spices, and other essential groceries. Each kit will provide immediate food support for approximately eight weeks. By reducing hunger and household expenses, the assistance will allow families to focus more on health, children's education, and livelihood activities instead of worrying about their next meal.
The project will improve food security, nutrition, and well-being for 225 vulnerable families. Reliable access to essential groceries will reduce hunger, malnutrition, and financial stress while restoring dignity and hope. In the longer term, healthier and more stable households will be better able to support children's education, protect family health, strengthen resilience, and pursue sustainable livelihood opportunities.
