Food for a year for Ruth

A microproject by International Disaster Volunteers (IDV)
Food for a year for Ruth

This project will provide a year of nutritious food for Ruth. Ruth and her sister have both lived at the HTDC Orphanage since 2017. Their mum sadly died giving birth to their younger sibling, who also didn't make it. Despite this tragedy Ruth stays positive, is very close with her sister and is doing well in school. Yet without nutritious meals Ruth will become more vulnerable to illness and unable to concentrate in school.

The HTDC Orphanage does its very best for the children in its care, but the situation in Haiti is even tougher right now than usual. Years of political unrest and the assassination of the President have created chaos and rising prices, and the impacts of Covid-19 on the global economy mean that donations are drying up. This means that we urgently need your support to provide nutritious meals for Ruth.

By donating today, you'll help us provide the nutritious food Ruth needs to stay healthy, happy and able to concentrate in school. Donations to this project will cover Ruth's share of the food costs over a year, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.

Long-Term Impact

Nutritious meals and a balanced diet help prevent illness and promote healthy growth and development. By providing the nutritious food Ruth needs, you'll give her the chance to build herself a better future.
