Kenson’s mother brought him to the orphanage because he has no place to live. He was very sad when he arrived while he was trying to adjust to his new environment, he was usually found crying or sleeping.
The HTDC Orphanage does its very best for the children in its care, Kenson included, but the situation in Haiti is even tougher right now than usual. Years of political unrest and the assassination of the President last year have led to chaos and rising prices. The impacts of Covid-19 on the global economy also mean that donations from some supporters have dried up.
Although this micro-project didn’t reach its target the money that was raised will still help support Kenson and the other children at HTDC*. For example, generous donations to this project mean that Kenson* will keep enjoying three nutritious meals a day. This will help him to stay healthy and concentrate in school.
Kenson has a brighter future because you gave. There are so many things you could have spent your hard earned money on, but you chose Kenson. Thanks so much.
We’ll keep updating you about Kenson and all his friends at the Hands Together to Defend the Children Orphanage through this project’s parent page,Provide a Safe Home for Haitian Orphans. If you ever have any questions about how we're using your donation, please email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
*Your donations to this project will cover Kenson’s share of the costs, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.
