“Thank you! To made my Eid day special by watched puppet and magic show with my friends, got Eidi ( money on the festival for entertainment) and delicious food. I enjoyed drawing with my mother who helped me to sketch my dream on flip chart” Mehwish (Female 7 years old) said to Muwakhat team.
Since 2015, Muwakhat Foundation distributing New Eid clothes and dry ration to homeless children and their mothers and it was the first time to arrange the event on Eid day for them. The ultimate purpose was made the traditional day special and memorable for these children as other Muslim children.
On Eid Day all children with their mothers invited and following activities conducted to fill their Eid day with laugh and happiness. They came with wear new clothes distributed before Eid festival.
Activity 1: Puppet and Magic Show
Children enjoyed and fully participated in the puppet show. They were amazed by watch magic in real.
Activity 2: Eidi ( money)
As tradition on Eid festivals, elders give money (Eidi) to children for spend with their friends for eat food, purchase toy or go for picnic. Muwakhat Foundation had given Eidi to all children and Total children 56 who attended this event.
Activity 3: Food
Muwakhat Foundation brings food with nutrition for children and their mothers. All were made line and taken food in very organized manner. Muwakhat conducted many sessions on mannerisms and cleaning and result seen in 15 months on Eid day that all ate food with silence and no wastage of food.
Activity 4: What is your dream ( drawing)
This is very interesting activity, our director asked a question to each child “what they want to become in future?” only three children were able to share their dream and remaining were not had any idea about their future. Together Mothers and children did enjoy drawing and children shared their dream. Mehwish (mentioned above) want to be a doctor.

Way Forward:
Muwakhat Foundation spent 18 months on awareness and close to homeless families, win their trust and now next step to develop “ Child Rehabilitation and Preschool center” for children where awareness provide on future, focus on alleviate their bad habits and prepare them for regular school. All they learned through fun activities.
