Project aims to provide a community-based kitchen facility to serve daily meals to 50 neglected elderly people living in a remote area in Guntur district, India. These individuals have been identified as being at high risk of starvation due to the COVID19 pandemic and lack of support from family or neighbours. Some able-bodied women have expressed interest in participating in the cooking and serving of daily meals collectively. The goal is to raise $1000 to provide daily meals to 50 for 2 months
The Covid pandemic has exposed the plight of the elderly in Guntur, a district in Andhra Pradesh, India. More than 300 of them, living in slums and rural areas, face malnutrition and hunger as high-risk cases. They urgently need humanitarian aid and support from the government and civil society. They are not just Covid victims, but also the neglected ones.
BASS India is a non-profit organization that serves daily nutritious meals to 50 elderly people who face the threat of starvation in Guntur. Through this micro project, we aim to enhance their health and well-being by not only providing them with food, but also conducting regular medical checkups and fostering a supportive community where they can care for each other and live with joy and happiness.
