This project will provide 100 underserved Almajiri street-connected children with nutritious meals, clothing, medical check-ups, testing, treatment, and medicines. Many live and sleep on the streets with little access to food, clean clothing, or healthcare. The project will treat common illnesses, reduce hunger, provide suitable clothing, and refer children who need further medical care to health facilities.
Many Almajiri street-connected children face hunger, poor clothing, untreated illnesses, and little or no access to healthcare. Some live and sleep on the streets, exposing them to malaria, infections, injuries, malnutrition, and harsh weather. With little money for medical tests, treatment, medicines, food, or clothing, preventable health problems can become severe. This project will help meet these immediate needs for 100 children.
The project will identify 100 underserved Almajiri street-connected children and provide them with nutritious meals, clothing, medical check-ups, diagnostic tests, treatment, and prescribed medicines. Health workers will screen the children for common illnesses and provide treatment where needed. Children requiring care beyond the project's medical services will be referred to health facilities for further examination and treatment.
Providing regular access to food, clothing, and healthcare can help 100 Almajiri street-connected children stay healthier and reduce their exposure to preventable illness, malnutrition, and untreated infections. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent minor health problems from becoming severe. Medical referrals will also connect children with health facilities where they can receive continued care when needed.
