Summary

This microproject will provide daily nutritious meals to children in rural Zimbabwe, enabling them to focus on their education without the distraction of hunger. By ensuring they receive the nutrition they need, we're giving them the tools to thrive academically, access future opportunities, and work towards breaking the cycle of poverty.

Challenge

The project addresses severe hunger and lack of educational resources among children in rural Zimbabwe. With widespread poverty, political instability, and unemployment at 99%, many children come to school hungry and are unable to focus or learn effectively. Hunger and malnutrition hinder their development and prevent them from gaining the education needed to break the cycle of poverty, leaving them with limited opportunities for the future.

Solution

This microproject will provide daily nutritious lunches to primary school children in rural Zimbabwe, ensuring they have the energy and focus to engage in their studies. By addressing their immediate hunger, the project creates a stable environment for learning, helping them access education and develop skills to improve their future opportunities. The initiative also supports the local school, fostering long-term community growth and resilience.

Long-Term Impact

Our objectives are simple: to continue to assist the local community in every way we can - particularly with the feeding of primary school children, and providing resources to maximise their education and eventually their employment opportunities. This will help them concentrate and focus on their studies while they are at school and will also provide them with some of the nutrients that they are lacking.
