By Azah Kelly | Staff - Health Department - Reach Out NGO
Dear donors,
thank you for your valuable contributions.
There has been a rise in growth of COVID-19 in Cameroon and Buea is not left out of the scene. Most people go about their normal activities and are increasing the rates of transmission. The health system is not strong enough and they are not well equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) to manage infected patients. Out of 636 confirmed cases in the South-West Region, 85 are health personnel.
With your donations and with a grant from GlobalGiving, Reach Out NGO donated PPEs (400 surgical masks, 15 face shields, 20 protective gowns, 2 infra-red thermometers and 400 gloves) to Mount Mary Hospital located in Buea.
The administrator commended Reach Out's efforts in the fight against COVID-19 in the South West Region of Cameroon and assured us that these equipment will be used for the intended purpose.
This is the 8th of a series of distributions targeting centers directly fighitng COVID-19 and rural centers that are first points of contact. This microproject is closed, but you can continue following our activities in our main project: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/provide-healthcare-to-remote-displaced-communities/
We deeply appreciate your support, and thank you once more for investing in us. The totality of your donation was used to purchase face-masks.
