The website design for students was partially funded. So funds from this project have been pooled with existing program dollars to support training with a curriculum designed for high school students. The curriculum is led by a facilitator/teacher and leads students through a scenario to role play developing a website for a client using WordPress.
Members shared that they liked using WordPress and creating sites but they prefer to choose their own topic of interest rather than working through the scenario. To support the interest in developing websites, staff purchased tablets with Wi-Fi to provide a mobile platform for testing developed sites as well provide a mobile development tool.
Teen members will also learn to code in html using lessons found on www.codecademy.com.
