This project will ensure that no child goes to sleep with an empty stomach, erase the hunger of the poor and the needy with a small step. It is one of the greatest travesties in society when we fail children by making them give up their studies, dream, and childhood because of failure to provide the basic nourishment that they require. During this COVID-19 pandemic, our relief team has been working hard to help the people to get regular meals.
The pandemic has been a tough time for almost everybody as the lockdown bought society to a standstill but amongst everyone, it made an already tough lifestyle for the neglected families. Doctors recommend three meals a day for growing children, but poverty-stricken families in Goa often struggle to provide even one meal a day. With the pandemic in motion and the monsoons and floods, the average duration between each meal grows longer for these families.
We at El Shaddai have taken up the pledge to feed 1,000 hungry stomachs per day to continue living their childhood with one less worry and reducing the burden that their parents carry. We need all the support we can get to complete this pledge. So far we have been able to provide 5,25,692 meals, but our first major step towards ending hunger is to provide a total of 1 million meals. So now more than ever we need your support to help us to eradicate hunger amongst the underprivileged children.
