This microproject will help bring more access to information and resources to 75 students at our flagship school, Panajachel Colegio Internacional, through the building of a modern mobile technology lab.
One of the biggest issues facing education in Guatemala is the lack of technological resources that will help students gain the skills necessary to work and thrive in the digital age. We hope to provide access to quality technology education (computer programming, basic word processing, access to research and information, etc) to our students at PCI so that they will be better prepared for university and their future careers.
We are hoping to provide a more rigorous technology education through the purchase of new computers that can handle computer programming applications and other advanced technology education programs. We will expand our STEM program offerings in order to prepare students for a world built around technology and the ability to use it effectively and efficiently.
This project will fund the educations of 100 students in Solola, Guatemala by providing them with a community-focused, tri-lingual (Spanish, English, and Kaq'chikel) education that teaches students the skill sets necessary to attain higher levels of education and break the cycle of poverty that exists in their communities.
