Respected Donor Namaste!!

Many Greetings from RSKS India.....!!

We have been getting your valuable generous support through GlobalGiving and we are thankful to you from the core of our heart.

In rural areas, women are still distant and aloof from banking services. They either depend on the family members of take loan from moneylenders at higher rates to start self-employment. In order to link such women to banking, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan forms self-help groups.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the financial support of GlobalGiving Foundation, mobilized 122 deprived women of remote villages in Pisangan and established 12 women self-help groups. A meeting is held of the self-help groups every month in which savings of women members is collected to deposit in the bank account and promote them to employ themselves so that they may become self-reliant. In the meeting, we provided information about banking and government schemes to women members that prove beneficial for them.

With the support of GlobalGiving Foundation, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan supported 13 old self-help groups to get loan of Rs. 15 lakhs with the help of Bank. Every women member got loan of Rs. 14,000 which they utilized to start an employment unit as fancy stores, goat rearing, footwear shop, fruits-vegetables cart, sewing, etc. Each of the women members doing hard work to run their business and getting good earnings. Now, they have become self-reliant with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation and Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and positive changes can be observed in their living standard. Now, they are able to look after their family more precisely and provide better education to their children than ever.

In order to increase the capacity of women, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation, organized a capacity building training for 122 women members of 12 self-help groups. In the capacity building training, information regarding banking activities were given to women trainees along with the knowledge of management of self-help groups and some knowledgeable activities were also held for building their capacity and to make them aware of several issues. During the training, the trainees also got Life Skill training.

Here, we share the story of one of the women members of one of the self-help groups formed by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan in her own words.

My name is Janaki and it's been one year since I joined the self-help groups. Before, joining the self-help groups I worked in the fields and earn a little. I was in need of funds to buy a goat, so I went to moneylender, but he asked very high rate of interest which I could not bear. Then, as per the suggestion of our ward panch, I joined the self-help groups with the help of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and after some time, I got a loan of Rs. 14,000/- at very low rate of interest which I could repay easily. I bought two goats with the amount of loan and started selling their milk to earn. Now, I am also respected in my family as others and I feel free of social evils for which I thank Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation from the botton of my heart.

Thanking you for your kind cooperation and financial support. Without your generous donations it is very difficult for us to '' Empowering 120 Rural Women through Microfinance !!''
