Dear Kranti Friends & Supporters,
As you know, our library micro project was 100% funded! We have now built the library in our home. One of Kranti’s volunteers who is an architect helped us design a library that is perfect for our house, and it took about two weeks to build after the project was funded. Unfortunately, we are still organizing it! I am including some photos so you can see what it looks like now.
We also got many books from donations, like many people from Mumbai and some people from US. We now have sections for fiction, non-fiction, Hindi, English, reference, etc. Since we finished our library, there are many other volunteers who are interested to teach us English. For example, Susan, who is the wife of the Canadian ambassador, volunteers twice a week to teach me and Pinky English. She also helped us to get $750 of books for teenage ESL learners. This is important because for teens like me who have low reading levels in English, most books our levels are not interesting for someone my age. But the books Susan is helping us to buy and learn are about serious issues for teenagers (trafficking, environment, blood diamonds, etc.) at basic English level.
We are very, very happy that all of you decided to contribute to this project. We cannot explain how much it has changed our life – especially our study time and desk space. Thank you so much for your support and donations that made our library possible!
Sincerely,
The Revolutionaries
