Thank you for contributing to this special microproject to bring clean GiveLove composting toilets to Kisola Primary School. As a result of your donation, we have completed constructing the Teacher Toilets. We have found that to garner "buy-in" for the new toilet technology, it's important to begin with the teachers. These toilets will be open for the new school term beginning in May.
Shortly following that, we will begin building the blocks of student toilets at Kisola. The donations from this microproject will be combined with grants from the Gupta Family Foundation and a gift from the Mussers to fully fund the project. Your support has been instrumental in helping to make this needed sanitaiton a reality.
Once the toilets are fully opened, students will receive our new Compost Toilet student booklet, an illustrated guide to container based toilets and composting. The importance of composting, clean water, and the science behind the program are detailed to dovetail with the Kenyan curriculum. Created in collaboration with GiveLove, this guide is fun and engaging. A recent donation of microscopes means that students can find microorganisms living in the compost!
We invite you to follow us on social media to see more updates on this microproject and other Kenya Connect programs. Thank you for being part of this important clean sanitation initiative!
