This Micro Project aims at empowering 100 talented music kids in rural Uganda by providing them with musical instruments and training. Our goal is to focus their energy and talent in music, providing a positive outlet and a potential career path.
The problem of limited access to musical education and instruments in rural Uganda hinders the potential of young musicians. According to Uganda's National Development Plan (NDP) III, quality music education is lacking due to insufficient resources and infrastructure, particularly in rural areas. Studies by the International Institute for Capacity Development (IICBA) and the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) highlight the need for increased investment in music education
To address the lack of access to musical education and instruments in rural Uganda, we propose establishing a music program that provides instruments, training, and mentorship to 100 talented young musicians. This initiative will equip them with the skills and resources needed to pursue music careers, fostering creativity, confidence, and socio-economic opportunities.
Our long-term goal is to create a sustainable music program that not only provides musical education but also opens doors to future career opportunities in the music industry. We envision our students becoming professional musicians, music teachers, and music producers, contributing to the growth and development of Uganda's music industry
