In September Elle went to Morocco with her son Jacoby and her Moroccan husband so his parents could meet their grandson Jacoby. When it was time to come home, Elle's husband told her that they were not going back to the USA. When Elle called us she was in shock. She said her husband changed when they got to Morocco. He is dark and moody and she is afraid. She just wants to come back to the USA. With this project we will be able to pay for the airline tickets to bring them home.
Many times American women travel abroad for vacation to the country of their foreign born spouses, only to find out they are not returning home. The sooner we can get Elle and Jacoby out of the country, the better chance they have of escaping before her husband hides their American passports or takes any kind of legal action to gain custody of Jacoby in Morocco. Elle is also concerned as he is getting more and more agitated and angry at her every day.
We will be able to pay for a taxi to the airport and a plane ticket for Elle. Jacoby is under 2 years old so he will fly for free. Elle will be able to go back to her parents house where they were living before they went to Morocco.
Each year we provide battered American women and children with information and services necessary to enable them to live their lives without violence. Since 2001 we have helped over 3000 women plus their children free themselves from abuse.
