Project update- help 50 Elderly in India

By Joseph Anthony A Chukka | Project Leader

Dear Donor, Namaste!

We are immensely grateful for your generous donations to the project “Provide Daily Meals to 50 Neglected Elderly People” on GlobalGiving. Your contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of 50 elderly people who are living in extreme poverty and isolation in a remote village in Andhra Pradesh, India.

The project is a microproject operated by The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS), a non-governmental organization that works for the welfare and development of marginalized communities in India. BASS has been running various programs for children, women, youth, and elderly people since 1978.

The project aims to provide daily nutritious meals to 50 neglected elderly people who have no family support and have to beg for food. These elderly people suffer from hunger, malnutrition, and various health problems due to their poor living conditions.

With your support, we were able to provide daily nutrition meals to 50 elderly people for a period of two weeks in July 2023. This has improved their health, dignity, and well-being. The project also established a community kitchen cum elderly people meal centre that will serve as a permanent source of food for the elderly people in the village.

Unfortunateky two of the elderly people from our slum  centrs has died during last qurter as per their ages and ill health.

However, the project still needs your help to continue its mission. The project has received only $248.61 out of its goal of $3,000. This means that we can only provide meals for another two weeks. After that, the elderly people will be left without food and care again.

We urge you to kindly continue to support the main project on GlobalGiving and help us reach our goal. Your donations will enable us to provide daily meals, medical care, and emotional support to the 50 elderly beneficiaries for a longer period of time. Your donations will also help us expand our scope and reach to more elderly people in need in other villages or regions, as there is a huge gap between the demand and supply of such services.

Please share this project with your friends and family and encourage them to donate as well. Every dollar counts and makes a difference.

DONATE - Give daily meal to the elderly in India

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. You are making a positive impact on the world.

Sincerely, with gratitude
