SUMMARY Microcredit plays a very big and important role in empowering women in small businesses through Microfinance initiatives. The main goal of the project is to provide the women with the opportunity to access small loans and other financial services to enable them improve their businesses. By accessing low interest loans, the women will be transformed economically and learn better business skills that will uplift them from the marginalized to be champions of sustainable development .
CHALLENGE For decades, women have faced significant barriers in starting or those already in business to to expand their businesses due to limited opportunities to access loans, lack of collateral and social norms that impede women to access loans. The project aims to create a conducive environment for women to access financial resources and opportunities to uplift their businesses.
SOLUTION The project will create an enabling environment for women to access loans without any hindrance collaterals and other high interest loans. The microcredit project will enable also women to break all financial barriers, improve on their business skills and advocate for a more inclusive role in decision making in their society.
LONG TERM IMPACT The long term impact will be that women will no longer lack access to loans and other financial services and there will be improved economic status among women. The women will be economically empowered, better education for their children and better health and above all uplifting themselves from a marginalized society to an economic development society.
