Donate to Women Micro Credit for Sustainability

The Women Micro Credit was established to assist women in our community to access funds to support them commence money generating actvities through which they will be able to sustain themselves financially. The women both in rural and urban areas face challenges in sending their children to scholl especially many of them are single mothers.

DONATION

In September 2025, thw women recieved $100  in donations to support them as mentioned abovve but unfortuntely the funds were not enough to caater for every applicant. They decided to wait and see if they could raise more funed but it was not possible. There was a challenge of leadership within the group on how the funds will be managed. They decided to form a committee to oversee the credit program and the following were elected on the committe as follows:

1. Margaret -  Chair Person

2. Irene         -   Secretary

3. Gorret      - Treasurer

4. Martha     - Member

5. Ritah      -   Member

The committe together with other members sit on a weekly basis to discuss matters concerning the Micro Group and they named the group as a " VILLAGE SAVING AND LOAN GROUP where all other groups from other villages will be subscribing to the main group as members and those groups will be holding meetings in their areas. Also the committee passed a resolution where all members will be saving weekly in order to raise more money to run the Micro Credit Group.

DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS

The group decided to give a loan of shs.300,000 to Margaret who had an immediate challenge of repairing her Zero Grazing Shade and she will pay the loan within four months with a interest rate of 3 per cent per month, which means Margaret at the end of the period of four months, she will pay a total of shs. 336,000 with an interest of shs.36,000. T raise shs.300,000, the group had recieved shs.260,000 and topped up the shs.40,000 out of their weekly savings. Margaret will be paying back a weekly instalment of shs 21,000 per week. It is assumed by the end of the loan period, the group would have raised more funds to loan to another member of the group.
