The Bauchi community is growing with new jobs opportunities and grow but is still plagued by many forms of malnutrition, the Poultry Project hopes to combat this as a secondary business project in conjunction with local fish farming programs. This microproject hopes to offer people throughout Bauchi another source of necessary vitamins and nutrition that is found within locally grown chicken at prices the community can afford.
Erratic rainfall over the course of several years left farmers in the once-thriving villages with drastically reduced harvests. Many of the villagers are suffering from malnutrition, including severe vitamin B deficiencies. Village infrastructures have deteriorated due to a lack of resources with which to make repairs. The Bauchi Poultry Farming project will replicate the success of fish farming by creating new poultry farming in surrounding areas creating jobs while growing affordable foods
Poultry Farmers of Bauchi will provide an affordable source of Vitamins while at the same time creating jobs for the local community The project will also teach them new farming techniques while at the same time allowing farmers to be able to afford to send their children to school.
Develop independent profit-generating businesses that serve as models for growth in surrounding communities. Project beneficiaries fill voids in the local economy while improving their families' health, education and financial stability. Previous leaders have sent their brothers, sisters and children to school, helped invest in new businesses within the community, offered new services to community members such as the disabled, establishing infrastructure for the future growth of Nigeria.
