Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives and Respective Donors,
Because of your generous donation, young men and women throughout Nigeria have been able to foster new businesses in fields such as fish-farming, computer repair, electrical work, welding, and much more. These ventures as well as many others have established sustainable jobs for Northern Nigerian citizens, who face religious and political turmoil daily. Alternatives to working on such projects with Leadership Initiatives do not range much; thus, many young men have been pressured to participate in terrorist activities and groups such as the Boka Haram. However, prospects of the Northern Nigerians have been looking up in the last five years. Through the help of your contributions and the support of Leadership Initiatives, there have been over forty businesses that have arisen within Nigeria alone. Each one of these businesses has continued to grow and positively impact their community. Moreover, these business leaders plan to expand their work and services to other regions of the country, which gives other young men and women a chance to thrive in a terror-ridden country.
Our students create novel solutions firmly grounded in principles of social entrepreneurship. We have previously created in Bauchi, Nigeria businesses in tailoring, motorcycle repair & computer education with job placement. Currently, the project Create 10 New Businesses and 70 New Jobs, seeks to help business leaders create more jobs and offer more services within their community through providing the necessary training. This micro-project will directly establish a Secondary Business Education Program Center in Bauchi State. Since Bauchi State is a focal point for the heart and soul of Nigeria, this program will be able to reach further to those seeking stable living conditions and future success. This program entails classes, which will teach individuals about financial, personal and business management. Additionally, this center will be available year round to help find solutions to problems and answers to questions that arise in the case that businesses continue to expand. Not only will this center be a resource, it will also become a hub for potential investors. Through attracting more investors, more capital could be generated. With more capital, more Nigerians will have the opportunity to send their children to school, improve their country’s infrastructure, and start on a forward movement to future growth.
Because of you and your generosity, we have been able to continue our efforts and develop independent profit-generating businesses that serve as models for growth in surrounding communities. Project beneficiaries fill voids in the local economy while improving their families' health, education and financial stability. Previous leaders have sent their brothers, sisters and children to school, helped invest in new businesses within the community, offered new services to community members such as the disabled, establishing infrastructure for the future growth of Nigeria.
Leadership Initiatives will be regularly providing updates and insight into these projects as the month's progress through GlobalGivings reporting program. Of course, at anytime you can request a project update to learn up to date info on how this project is progressing.
As a supporter of " Create 10 New Businesses and 70 New Jobs", Leadership Initiatives would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate or have new ideas on how to develop our programs please contact me at mbailly@leadershipinitiatives.org. Marshall
