Dear Supporters,
COVID-19 has had us all locked-up at home, imagine life in a one room shack when nobody is working or has anything to do. Living closely in these conditions then adding access to alcohol and other drugs we have seen huge spikes in the number of reported domestic abuse cases globally. In Zimbabwe the support for victims is limited and this is why your donations have made an incredible life changing difference to women and children in Zimbabwe.
Our project and partner in Zimbabwe before COVID has been providing a safe support network for women and their children that have been victims of domestic abuse. They run an emergency phone line for women to contact that need support and with the increase of cases during this pandemic your donations have allowed us to launch this phone line as toll free, allowing women to call for free and access the support they need and deserve. Your donations have funded the phone line to be free for the next 3 months as well as funded a local radio advert and local marketing within the community to promote this very important and confidential service.
We are already hearing women are increasingly grateful and accessing this service because of your donations!
Our next priority is providing the legal support, the professional support and other resources needed to help rehabilitate these women and others like it across Africa. There is still so much for us to do and we want you to join us and support this project if you can!
Thank you for your donations!
