Summary

This project will provides daily meals to the 30 abandoned orphan and semi orphan children living in a slum who are at high risk of starvation due to covid emergency situations. Due to covid lockdown in India no works and no schools for kids and most of the families are not able to have adequate food supplies to their families. unfortunately some of the children who are identified as abandoned are not having even single meal for day. This project provides at least one good meal everyday.

Challenge

3000 migrated families living in Lingayapalem slum in small huts and attending daily wage works in Guntur city. 40 children are identified as semi orphans at high risk of starvation currently due to covid lock down. Family is not able to provide daily food to these abandoned children due to no works and local school is not providing mid day meal currently. Hence these kids are at high risk of starvation with health problems on malnutrition with psychological weakness and low growth rate.

Solution

BASS provides daily nutritional meal and health care to 30 abandoned starving children. some of Children mothers are trained in best nutrition and child care. set up one kitchen cum dining room for the children to access daily meal for year. Cook cum care taker will organised the program to provide daily meal to children and train the mothers and kids to practice good health habits. Dining hall will continue to provide daily food to the children even after the covid lockdown throughout year.

Long-Term Impact

Project will provide continuous daily nutrition meal to 30 abandoned children in slum of Guntur. improve health and proper growth of the children. Educate best health practices to the children and their families for Improved healthy behavior and living conditions. Create linkages with community, schools, government department and other organisations to continue to provide the best nutrition meals to the needy children in the slum. And support to continue children education effectively.
