Protective masks are now officially required in Sierra Leone - but most people do not have one. The economic crunch of this pandemic has wrecked family budgets - with many struggling to meet daily needs. Families living at or below the poverty line are not able to purchase masks. This project will provide at least 1500 masks free to these families. These masks will provide the much-needed protection that they need to keep them safe and stop the spread of COVID-19 / the Coronavirus.
Protective masks stop the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus from person to person. Thousands of families with strained budgets / at the brink of poverty simply cannot afford one. Without masks, they are at the risk of catching and spreading the virus. It's critical that everyone has one to stop the spread of this devastating pandemic.
With the funds raised from this project, local tailors in Sierra Leone will purchase the materials needed and then sew the 1500 masks. Then the 1500 masks will be provided free to families. This will help reduce the risk of infection through the air.
Lives will be saved from sickness and death from the coronavirus. The spread of COVID-19 will be stopped.
