Dear friends,
We are happy to report that our computer lab at The Mariposa Center for Girls is up and running. Thanks to your support and an additonal donation of ten brand new Mac laptops, our oldest girls are happily typing away. The Visual and Performing Arts-Dance program at Castilleja School in California helped get the donated laptops from Linkedin and sent them our way! Your contributions will ensure that we are able to keep our computer lab in tip top shape throughout the year and have the support of a volunteer computer teacher to instruct the girls on office skills, internet and social media safety and how to properly care for the equipment.
The Mariposa Center for Girls is open six days a week and because of you we now have a great space for our girls to study and learn. 16 year old Victoria (pictured) says "I am so happy that at Mariposa I can come to use the computer to do my homework. I am working hard to finish high school so that I can be the first girl in my family to do this. I can not have my own computer because my family can not afford that, but here at the Center I can study with my friends and get the help that I need. I love it!"
Our success is only possible because of thoughtful, generous people like you and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Sincerely,
The girls, families, volunteers and staff at The Mariposa DR Foundation
