St Peter's Chironge is a Secondary partial boarding School for boys and girls. Placed in Kisii County of Kenya. There are 14 teachers and 315 students. The school is accommodating increased number of students per yer with no ICT facilities, despite the space provided for it. As a result, this has impacted the quality of learning. We would like to financially invest in technology to better the student's digital literacy and have access to a high quality education.
Despite the willingness of teachers and students to be taught and teach computing skills There is a lack of computers, with the ratio of 1 computer to 315 teachers and students. The computer available is used by teachers and school accountant for uploading students' grades and updating finance summary. Students rely on books available at school and have no access to updated research. students have no form of access to type up their work or information on how to send emails.
Financially investing in computers and developing the computer space. Providing WIFI and a projector which can be used to watch educational videos in relation to ICT skills in a larger group. In addition, investing in the process of connecting electricity from the school to the computer lab.
Students will have access to updated information in relation to their studies. They will also be able to develop their digital literacy and have the options to apply for universities and technical colleges. In addition, investment in computers will also enable teachers to upload grades and communicate with other schools efficiently and effectively, giving them more time to invest themselves in other areas of the school, such as extra curriculum and activities.
