Malambo Village is located in the Mambwe District of Eastern Province and it's one of the districts that has been affected by deforestation due to charcoal burning. Due to this, women and young girls have to walk long distances to look for firewood for cooking. This made school girls miss classes and women not to be productive.
Kukula Solar working with individuals and cooperate, donors, embarked on a project to distribute 400 clean cookstoves in malambo village women so that we can reduce the dependence on charcoal and tree cutting.
Together with our donors, we have managed to distribute 180 clean cookstoves to 180 households in the village, helping families save time and money. The distributed stoves have also helped girls not to miss classes and spend more time studying instead of collecting firewood.
With this project, we have managed to plant 1000 trees in the village whose twigs will be used for cooking using the cookstoves we have distributed once they grow.
We are passionate about reducing deforestation and we are looking forward to relaunching the project to raise more money to continue with the distribution of clean cookstoves.
To all our donors we say THANK YOU for your continued support and we continue looking to your support as we protect the forest from been cut due to demand of charcoal in villages and cities.
