Looking for a gift idea this Christmas for your animal loving friends or family members? With DAKTARI Bush School & Wildlife Orphanage you can make a donation to an orphaned animal of your choice on behalf of your loved one. After making your donation we will send you a personalised gift certificate for your receiver as well as a follow up report on your animals progress. You can choose to support our Bushbaby, Mongoose, Verreaux's Eagle, Crocodiles, Meerkats, Bushbuck or Caracal (see pictures).
We have a number of beautiful and interesting animals who have come to live at DAKTARI due to becoming orphaned, injured or simply because they were previously kept as pets and do not know how to survive in the wild. We spend a great deal of time and money on housing, feeding and rehabilitating these animals who would have no future without our help. Our goal is to make their lives as comfortable and happy as possible :)
By making a donation as a Christmas gift for a loved one, you will also be giving a special gift to your choice of animal. Good quality food is expensive, but we really aim to provide the animals with a natural, nutritious diet that is similar to what they would eat in the wild. We also want to make their enclosures as enriching as possible so that they don't get bored. Your donation will contribute towards keeping your chosen animal happy and healthy.
With your help, we can work towards rehabilitating those animals who have the potential for release. Those that are unable to survive in the wild will stay with us to act as an educational medium to teach local underprivileged children to care about wildlife and conservation. In this way, these animals can act as ambassadors for their kind and serve to protect their species in the future.
