Raising funds to support charitable works is currently very challenging. This appeal will address funding gaps faced by Hospice Africa Uganda and ensure that we can sustain and grow the number of critically ill patients we support, especially in rural communities and urban settlements. In addition, funding will go towards training and educating healthcare workers from Uganda and wider Africa in palliative care, as part of our strategy to spread palliative care far and wide on the continent
Honoring Dr. Anne's legacy is an ideal opportunity to appeal to our supporters and potential supporters to donate to ensure Her 32 years remarkable work of helping the critically in Uganda continues. Dr. Anne is known as the "mother of palliative care in Africa" and she was renowned for her work sowing the seeds of palliative care in Uganda and in 30 other African countries. The appeal will ensure her legacy continues to fill gaps in funding allowing us to continue our work.
The potential long-term impact of this project is that more critically ill people and those with life-limiting illnesses will be reached with pain relief and compassionate palliative care. It will ensure that Dr Anne Merriman's remarkable work will not only be sustained, but will grow. The appeal will ensure her legacy continues by filling gaps in funding
