The micro project will build a computer class (education centre) at Ananda Group home for persons with autism. The facility will provide computer literacy to resident persons with autism and kids in village nearby. We expect up to 50 residents and 50 village children to utilise this facility. The computer literacy will enable skill development and employability to the beneficiaries. This will someway fulfill the right to education and employment. Our need is more computers and computer tables.
The residents and kids in nearby village garat pur bas need skills that can help employability. Persons with autism are naturally good at computers however they need specific skill training. The kids in village either have none or perfunctory computer education opportunity at their school. Initially the project will benefit up to 50 persons with autism and 50 children from village.
We will provide computer education at Awareness level, basic use , and computer practice at nearly free of cost. The curriculum is in line with the different levels. The volunteers from high educational institutions and IT companies will help with the relevant course delivery and tuitions. A certificate will be issued to the beneficiary on successful completion that can help them in employability.
The project will pioneer best practices for group homes in India. It will empower persons with ASC&DD for independent living and work in the community. It will give much needed opportunity to village children to learn computer skills at no cost benefitting the wider community on ongoing basis, and serve as a model for replication. The project will thus touch many more lives and impact a far larger number of people through a cascading effect.
